Fashionistas have bad hair days, and nope, those wearing the hijab are not exempt from these irritating occasions. Whether its because the material just doesn’t fold a certain way or that the shawl has an irritating crease that doesn’t go away, there are just some days where you need a fuss free way of covering your hair.
Enter the turban hijab style - Fuss free coverage with an ounce of attitude.
Pair it with a turtle neck or an inner ‘ninja’ and chunky necklaces for better coverage and voila, you’re all set.
1) Criss cross front-tie turban
We love this colourful style from Ladyulia, an Indonesian style blogger.
Coupled with an inner ninja, a loose t-shirt and signature glasses, she looked the epitome of a relaxed day out.
2. Bun on top Turban style
This style has been in the spotlight for its simplicity and versatility but it is also synonymous with Yuna, a singer-songwriter from Malaysia, who’s currently making waves in the US under the mentoring of Usher.
Need it to be more glam? Try a different type of material ala the picture on the right. Pair it with bold eye makeup and you're all set.
3) Elegant Turban Style Hijab
We’ve always associate this high turban style with a more elegant look, something you can wear with pearl earrings for a day out with the ladies. The pouf at the back is styled slightly higher than the normal turban, giving it a more elegant effect. Perfect for sipping tea and enjoying scones with a dollop of cream. 🙂
4) Double Strand Turban Style
If you follow Nabila Bee, you’ll know that she has an impressive range of turban styles but this is one of the most unique I’ve come across. Maybe it’s the top shes wearing but this style reminds me of a more demure style you might want to try out.
5) Simple and Clean Turban Style
The simplicity of this style makes it stand out for a fuss free day. Perhaps it’s the material of the scarf that she uses but it looks super simple and very versatile. Definitely additional points for the spot-on highlighter, but hey, she is a make up artist after all.
Note: Rushana Issacs is not a hijabi but she makes this style looks so effortless and chic and that we just had to add her to the list.
6) Four-turban style
This probably won’t count as one style, but we’re loving the versatility of the 4 styles, especially when combined with statement or dangly earrings.
7) Low Bun Turban Style
Last but not least is the turban style made popular by Ascia AKF, the low bun. This is the most relaxed style out of the lot and it works so well with athletic leisure-wear or clean simple lines.
So there you have it, 7 turban hijab styles to suit any outfit you have on. Whether it's for a fancy day or night out, or if you just need a fuss-free way of covering up, one of these ways of tying the turban should do it for you.
